UIET, Kathua Campus (JU) cricket team has clinched a spot in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket Competition, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu after competing 8 teams of Kathua District in "Pool A". Mr. Avinash Kumar Sharma, Founder and Director, AviSoft Company gave a detailed lecture to the students sharing his expertise on the technicalities and skills needed to thrive in the field.

Rakesh Singh Sambyal, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Department of Information Technology Engineering at BGSB University, Rajouri and Sh. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Former Chief Engineer (Civil) who shared insights into the realms of social software robotics and the future of civil engineering, respectively.
Department of CSE, UIET, Kathua campus (JU) organized an enlightening expert lecture by Sh. Jasbir Singh, Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of MCA, University of Jammu on October 25th, 2024. The lecture, centered on the topic “Design and Analysis of Algorithms,” provided students with a deeper understanding of foundational and advanced principles of algorithm design and analysis, equipping them with knowledge critical to their future careers in Computer science and engineering.
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of UIET, Kathua Campus (JU) successfully organized the enrollment trials and Introduction to NCC on Monday, 7 October 2024, for the students of Kathua Campus (JU). In addition to the enrollment trials, a special introductory session on NCC was conducted for the students of the Kathua Campus. The students were encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities offered by NCC to develop skills.
In an effort to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical industry experience, Kathua Campus (JU) successfully organized the Hands-On Training on Information Technology on September 24, 2024. This initiative aimed to provide real-world exposure to students from Government Girls High School Nagri (Kathua), who visited UIET, Kathua Campus as part of their industrial visit.

Visvesvaraya, a renowned engineer and statesman, whose contributions to engineering continue to inspire generations. Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus (JU) in his message acknowledged the significance of Engineers' Day and the legacy of Sir Visvesvaraya.
On the last day of One Week Induction Program, a session by team of Art of Living on “Mental Peace and Meditation” was organized for the students. After the session, the resource person Mr. Paramveer Nandal, an alumnus of IIT Jammu conducted an expert lecture on the topic “College Life, Diverse Skills and Career Pathways”.The concluding ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus (JU) who delivered an inspiring address to the students.
The day highlighted two expert lectures on pivotal topics, followed by an interactive session between the faculty members and the new students. The first lecture of the day was delivered by Mr. Mohit Sharma, Founder & Director Sudans Technocrates Foundation and Midway, a seasoned expert in technology and innovation, who spoke on the topic of hackathons.The second expert lecture was conducted by Mr. Amit Sharma, Assistant Professor, Kathua Campus (JU) who focused on the topic Human to Machine.
As part of the Student Induction Program, an outside field visit was organized on the 4th day to enhance the students' understanding of local area, and history. The students were taken to two significant places: Jasrota Temple and Ujh dam. The visit was aimed at fostering interaction among the students while providing them with practical insights into regional heritage and infrastructure.

Kathua Campus Celebrated 78th Independence Day with Flag Hoisting, Tributes to Jawans and Tree Plantation.The central event of the day was the flag hoisting ceremony, which took place in the Lawns of Academic Block of Kathua Campus. Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus led the ceremony by hoisting the national flag which symbolizes the unity and sovereignty of the country. A special sapling plantation drive titled “Ek Paed Maa Ke Naam” (A Tree for the Motherland) was organized.
Today at GCET, Jammu, the final project submission for 8th semester was conducted. The students from both streams presented their innovative projects to the external examiners. With this the batch of 2020 has concluded their class work and is all set for their future endeavours(subject to declaration of pending results). Students were accompanied by their respective HoDs.

Prof. Bechan Lal, esteemed Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Winners of different events were felicitated by the Chief Guest. Over All Trophy for Best performance in Quiz was awarded to Anant and Anadi Mishra from UIET, Kathua.

In Quiz, Anadi Mishra and Anant Mishra from UIET secured First position. All the First prize winners and Overall Champions will be felicitated on 29th of November at 3 pm at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium in the Valedictory Function of Display Your Talent.
Under National Technology Day celebrations on 11th & 12th May 2023, department of Civil Engineering organized a field visit of its students to the 206 MW Shahpur Kandi Dam Project located on Ravi River downstream of Ranjit Sagar Dam in collaboration with the Department of Water Resource, Govt. of Punjab. Students got practical knowledge and exposure besides witnessing real life engineering. The Chief Engineer Shahpur-Kandi project graced the occasion along with other officers from GoPb.
UIET Kathua Campus, University of Jammu organized three-day skill development workshop on the world famous Basohli painting popularized for its miniature art style from May 17-19, 2024. The three-day workshop on Basholi miniature painting not only provided a platform for artistic expression but also served as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the region. The workshop commenced with an impressive turnout of students from the Institute of Music and Fine Arts(IMFA), UIET Kathua Campus.

University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Work for Blood Donor Society (WBDS), J&K for thalassemia child patients in the run-up to International Blood Donation Day. After proper donor screening and medical examination of all the voluntary donors, students, faculty members, and civilians of Kathua donated blood for the noble cause.
The first ever Freshers Party “AAGHAZ-2022” was a roaring success, filled with laughter, fun, and memories. Held on 12th April 2022 at Campus auditorium, the event brought together new students, seniors, and faculty for an unforgettable evening. Guests were treated to lively music, DJ beats, and energetic dance performances. A talent show allowed freshers to display their unique skills and talents, making the event even more memorable.
